Chapter 2 - The Tour of the Demi-School grounds

A tall lady walked toward the group. “Ah Ajax! I’m so glad to see you! And two girls too! I expect these are the two from Harper’s school. First day too! I’m Ms.Kittredge, i’m pleased to meet you.” the lady said. She was around six feet tall, had long wavy hair and a white toga with tall gold gladiator sandals. She had sparkly blue eyes that reminded one of a bubbly blue brook. Her skin was tanned and she wore many gold bracelets. Ajax shook her hand. “These two need to take the test, then get settled in and shown around. I must go on to the next place. Mr.Callas sensed some more demigods, but I think another searcher found them, I need to double check though, so bye.” Ajax started walking away. “Be careful Ajax! For my sake!” Ms. Kittredge called after him. Ajax smiled and waved “I’ll try to visit soon.” he called. Then he climbed into the car and drove off.
“So what are your names? As I said before mine is Ms.Kittredge.” Ms.Kittredge said. “Well mine is Livia Kurtz, and this is Aleesa Callas. I’m from Rome, she’s from Greece. We met today at Harper’s school. I was there last year too, and today was Aleesa’s first day.” Livia rambled off. She’s obviously not shy. Thought Aleesa. “Pleased to meet you Livia and Aleesa. I hope you will enjoy living here. I will go make your tests, while Kate here shows you around.” Ms. Kittredge said, motioning to a tall girl with long brown hair that reached to her waist and a pink Demi-School shirt and long black skirt with lots of sequins. “Hi” she said. Ms.Kittredge smiled. “Can you take Livia and Aleesa and show them around? Thank-you” she said. “Yes, i’ll be pleased.” said Kate. “Please follow me.” she said.
They walked up the lawn and to the large mansion. “This is the school and the teacher/counselor’s sleeping quarters. You will learn how to fight monsters, normal school and other indoor classes.” Kate said. “We will tour inside later. Now over here,” she said walking to a row of cabins, “Are the cabins. Depending on which god is your parent, you will be put in one. So if your mother was Aphrodite, or Venus in Roman form, you would be put in the Aphrodite cabin. There are fourteen major gods, so there are fourteen cabins.” Kate explained. “You will take the tests and the tests will determine which god is your parent.” she started to walk over the second bridge. “Over here on the left is the pool, it’s just a normal pool unfortunately.  And over there,” she said pointing to a large red barn looking building, “Is the stables and indoor ring. The stables have horses and pegasi. There is an indoor arena……..” she said but Livia interrupted. “What are pegasi?” she asked. Aleesa laughed. “Pegasi are winged horses, Pegasus is the father to them all.” she said. Livia stared at her. “How do you know that?” she asked Aleesa. Aleesa shrugged. “I loved Greek mythology, and I have a box full of Greek mythology books, if you want to read them. I saw the box in the limo.” she said. “Ok well anyways, we have an indoor arena when it rains, snows, or there is storms and an outdoor one, as well as a flying course, as you can see up there.” she said pointing far above in the air where multiple hoops were hanging along with lasers and other obstacles. “Over there is the land obstacle course, where there is earthquakes, rivers, and tons more things. You shall also be learning to ride in the outdoor and indoor arenas before you ride those.” Kate continued walking at a brisk pace. Aleesa and Livia looked at each other “This is crazy” Livia mouthed at Aleesa. Aleesa nodded. “I know” she mouthed back. Kate stopped. “Here is the archery grounds and the weponary. Each demi-god gets to choose his or her own weapon, and there are extra here for pretend battles, and fighting monster raids, also armor is in there and trust me, you will get stiff wearing them during lessons in dueling. But you will not have to wear them all the time because if a monster pops up you can’t change into armor, it wouldn’t wait. But anyways, you shall learn how to use bow and arrows and weapons. There’s not a set ground, the teachers insist on moving around to different areas so your not only used to fighting on the lawn.” Kate rambled on. Uh oh I will not like this. Thought Livia. “Over here is the arts and crafts area, and you can basically make anything you want. Children of Athena, or Minerva, as Roman’s call her are normally swarming this place. You can see the basketball court and that yellow building over there is the Mess Hall. Don’t ask me why it is yellow, it just is. It reminds me of mustard though.” Kate said. Aleesa laughed. “How many more buildings to go?” she asked. Kate smiled “A lot.” she replied. “Then there’s the Ga Ga Pit, though I never play, and the forge is over in the corner by the parking lot. That was that red brown building in the corner. The grounds are magically protected to keep monsters out, though sometimes there's a flaw.” Kate said frowning. “Once a Cyclops got in, but at least he was friendly. He wanted to help work in the forge with Hephaestus’a or Vulcan’s children and he is there still. His name is Liam.” The three girls walked back to the school building. Ms. Kittredge was was waiting for them in the doorway. “Ah there you are! Come in Aleesa and Livia! Thank you Kate, you may go do what you wish. I know you want to back to your cabin to practice your violin.” she said. Kate smiled. “I do Ms.Kittredge. Thank you! See you at dinner!” she said running off to the cabins. Ms. Kittredge led the two girls inside. It was bright and cheerful inside and what looked like birds with human heads flew around. Aleesa gasped. “Harpies!” she cried. “Yes we do have harpies who help keep the school in running order.” Ms. Kittredge said. They walked into a blue room with a long table. Two harpies set some papers on the table. “You may sit and begin. Don’t worry about time, its not timed. Its just a question sheet.” Ms. Kittredge said. The two girls sat down and pencils popped out of the air. Aleesa and Livia bent over and began writing.

Chapter 3 - In Which Aleesa makes a wonderful discovery

The two girls walked out of the school building. “That was pretty easy.” said Aleesa. Livia nodded. Then she yawned. “It must be near dinner time.” she said. Aleesa laughed. “I hope we have the same mom! That would mean we are sisters!” she said jumping up and down. Livia smiled. “I never thought of that before.” she said. They walked down to the basket ball court were multiple kids were playing. A bunch or kids were sitting on the bleachers chatting and laughing. One of the girls looked up. She smiled and called, “Hey! Are you new here?” Aleesa nodded. The girl motioned them to come over. Livia and Aleesa walked over. The girl smiled. “My name is Samantha, but my friends call me Sammy for short.” Sammy smiled again. She had short brown hair with purple tips and a tan. Her eyes were a milk chocolate brown and she smiled a lot. She was tall, and wore a pair of jeans and a pegasi t-shirt that said “let your imagination fly” She wore riding  boots and had the smell that reminded one

Chapter 1 - Never to see home again

The snow flew around and piled on the roof, windowsill and any other surface it could lay on. A furious wind pushed through the trees, making them dance. Icicles formed on the bushes and the world was frozen. Aleesa Callas shivered as she got dressed. She was unaccustomed to the snow. It would only snow two to three days in Athens, Greece. This snowstorm had started Monday. Today was Sunday. Brrrrr… It is so cold in Connecticut! Why did we have to move here? I liked Greece so much better! She thought heading down the stairs. “γεια πώς είσαι Patera” she said to her father, who was sitting by the fire in the living room. “Hello to you too, I’m doing fine. You know I ordered you to use English! Please do so.” Mr.Callas said frowning at the tall girl. “Yes Father.” Aleesa said looking at her feet. Mr.Callas’s frown softened. “I know it’s hard to get accustomed to America. But I always loved this place. That was why I made take the English lessons. Why don’t you go to bed now, its late
